If you feel like you’re stuck in a rut, you’re in the right place. Before my clients met me, they were in that same rut. They had great ideas and amazing potential but couldn't turn these great ideas into their reality. And they weren’t sure why. All they knew was that if they were going to turn their lives around, they needed guidance. This week’s guest is Diana Serrano, a student of the Courage Driven Latina Program and the Magnetic Mastermind program. Diana is an accountant dedicated to helping first-generation service entrepreneurs manage their bookkeeping and taxes with confidence. She’s passionate about empowering the Latine community by bridging the gap between tax education and financial success. As the eldest daughter of Mexican immigrants, Diana takes pride in her roots and loves being able to give back to her community. When she’s not crunching numbers, you’ll likely find her traveling abroad or trying a new workout. In this week’s episode, Diana shares her experience in the Courage Driven Latina program and the Magnetic Mastermind program. She experienced failure after failure before joining the program and she wanted to change that. With my guidance and the help of her new friends in our group coaching sessions, Diana learned how to push through her limiting beliefs and cultivate a firm belief in her mission. Now she’s received thirteen inquiries and is running a successful business. Tune in to hear more about her recent successes and how she overcame the obstacles in her path. Have you been trying to manifest your most amazing life and felt like you’re falling short? You think you’re doing everything right but you’re still not reaching your goals or hitting your milestones. That can be so incredibly frustrating. I firmly believe that anyone can manifest, even the person who isn’t seeing any results. It’s not that you can’t manifest. You definitely can! We just need to audit your manifestation practices and get rid of any mistakes. Let’s take a look at what’s going on internally that’s blocking you from receiving your blessings externally. In this week’s episode, we’re going over the most common manifestation mistakes and how to fix them. More often than not, our manifestations don’t come through because we’re blocking our own blessings. And sometimes we do it without even realizing it! Tune into this week's episode to see if you are making any of these manifesting mistakes and how you can fix them. Making friends as an adult is so much harder now than it was when we were kids. As kids, we made friends with whoever we had to be around. That meant making friends with our classmates in school, our teammates in our sports teams, and whoever was interested in the same hobbies as us. But as adults, we feel like we have two options—work and home. At work, we tend to want to keep things professional. So, how are we supposed to make friends as adults? I’ve learned that you can make friends by not being afraid to be alone. In this week’s episode, I will share how I made friends by using the power of solitude. I know it sounds counterintuitive but it really does work! By being alone I’ve made friends just by attending dance classes, traveling to different countries, and even while taking coaching courses for my business. I met some of my best friends in a coaching course! Listen to this episode to learn why being alone is the most important part of making friends as an adult. Sometimes when I talk about what I’ve manifested, people think that I’m talking about woo-woo nonsense. It can feel a little far-fetched. Like it’s a skill that some people have access to and others don’t. But I’m here to tell you that that is not the case. Yes, manifesting can be insanely spiritual. But there is also a formula for manifesting that is backed up by neuroscience. It is one of my favorite ways to manifest and by sharing this I hope it can help you manifest your wildest dreams. In this week’s episode, I will share with you the art of manifesting. I’ll be sharing my step-by-step framework to manifest all of my desires without getting anxious and without putting pressure on timing. With this framework, I have manifested a cup of coffee, featured in the New York Times, and the clients I needed when I first started my coaching business. I know that this is a part of life, ups and downs happen. But what you do when these ups and downs happen is what’s important. So what do you do when you don’t know what to do? In this week’s episode, I’m going to share the habit I practice when I don’t know what to do. Meditation has provided me with many solutions, and I just have to share my experience with you. It’s time to say goodbye to hustle culture and start focusing on what actually works - discipline. I used to be the type of person who wanted to hustle, climb the corporate ladder, and achieve the highest level of corporate success. But the more I tried, the more I knew that hustle culture is not at all sustainable. Hustle culture is based on a lack mindset. The anxiety around hustling makes you believe that there’s not enough to go around. It forces you to believe that if you’re not working yourself to the bone every day, you won’t get anything done. But that’s just not true. What you’re craving is not hustle, it’s discipline. This week’s episode is a repost of our most popular episode. In it, I will explain the difference between hustle culture and maintaining discipline. Discipline is a much more sustainable way of thinking and keeps you focused even when you’re not motivated. Discipline is crucial to achieving your long-term goals, and in this episode, I’m going to teach you how I became disciplined so that you can too. Are you choosing to be underpaid and overworked? Maybe not consciously, but you are staying put at a job that doesn’t value you. I know you want bigger and better things for your career, you just don’t know what to do about it. Which is exactly why I’m going to share the secret to career growth - pivoting. Many of us were not taught how to set healthy boundaries. In fact, we were told that setting boundaries made you a mean and coldhearted person. But that can’t be further from the truth! Believe it or not, setting boundaries is an act of love, and this week's guest will teach us how to set boundaries without losing our relationships. Liz Torres is a Boundary Coach and Breathwork Facilitator focusing on helping first-generation empath Latinas set healthy boundaries. Growing up, Liz was the “family manager” and a chronic people pleaser. AKA she had a really hard time saying “NO”. After leaving an abusive relationship, she embarked on her healing journey diving into therapy and spirituality. Recognizing her empath nature, she understood the significance of boundaries and how they could have supported her growing up. Since then, Liz’s goal has been to help others protect their energy by helping them set healthy boundaries- particularly focusing on the eldest daughters of immigrant parents. During her free time, Liz loves spending time with her hubby and their fur-baby Mamba. She recently rediscovered her love for reading so for all book lovers- feel free to send Liz your book recommendations! If you would like to work with Liz, you can find her on IG @wellnessbyliz or email her at hola@wellnessbyliz.com. In this week’s episode, Liz teaches us how to set and maintain healthy boundaries with our loved ones. She was not taught how to have healthy boundaries, and because of this, she ended up in an abusive relationship that she didn’t know how to leave. But by setting boundaries and keeping them, she was able to leave that relationship and improve every relationship around her. Tune in to hear more about boundary setting and how it can improve your relationships! What are you waiting for? This week, I invited three amazing clients to the podcast to share their amazing journeys of self-discovery. They all knew that they needed to make a change, but they didn’t know how to do it or where to start. That was until they decided to get out of their own way and just start. Sunkin Duarte is a Mexican American, daughter of two immigrants from Michoacán, Mexico, who was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. She is a multi-passionate woman who considers herself a spiritual empath and yogi, a trailblazing scholar and professional, and finally, a humanitarian who cares deeply about the BIPOC communities. Growing up, Sunkin was very academically focused, earning two full-ride scholarships to obtain her three degrees, and then in more recent years, breaking into the international development and humanitarian affairs field. Now, Sunkin spends her time giving back to her community through the Latinas in Progress Program of Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas and her newly created business, Sunkin Yoga, a lifestyle and wellness coaching business. Her goal is to uplift BIPOC communities to live their most authentic, aligned, and empowered lives by practicing mindfulness, doing self-introspection work, and integrating healthy practices into their daily routines. Jacqueline Torres is a wife, mother of four, RN turned real estate developer. After a hard year of financial uncertainty and having a new baby, she knew that she had to find a way to supplement their income. From Airbnbs to attending events, reading books, networking dinners, and listening to endless podcasts, she decided to take action, trust and believe in herself, and take a chance on new developments. Jacqueline partnered up with the right people, raised private money, and broke ground on her first new build! Erika Padilla is a Mexican immigrant, a single mom of two, and the oldest of five children. She immigrated to the US when she was only nine years old and her world as she knew it turned upside down. She came to a new country without knowing any English and carried a whole lot of fear. She quickly became the kid who got picked on because she didn’t understand anything. That just made me stronger and ever since I have seen everything as a challenge instead of a problem. She became a young mom at 23 who only found out she was pregnant three months before the baby arrived. Erika knew she had to give her child a better life, one away from addiction and money issues, so she moved in with the father’s family. She made it work with her children’s father for sixteen years before she decided it was time to leave him and start fresh. She is now working on a new chapter in her life, one filled with resilience and self-confidence. In this week’s episode, these three amazing women share how they got out of their own way and started creating the dream lives they knew they deserved. With the support of the Courage Driven Latina Program, each and every one of them are leaving toxicity behind. Whether that be toxic jobs or toxic situations, they are moving on to something better. Taking control of my finances was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, But, it was also one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do because I had to do it on my own. I had to seek out resources and teach myself how to be financially literate. And because I did so much research on financial literacy, I know that this week’s guest is not only a good friend, but she’s also the real deal. Jannese Torres is an award-winning Latina Money Expert. She became an accidental entrepreneur after a job loss led her to create a successful Latin food blog, Delish D’Lites. Now, she helps her clients and listeners build successful online businesses that allow them to pursue financial independence and freedom. Jannese is on a mission to educate marginalized communities on topics like entrepreneurship, investing, and financial independence through her personal finance podcast, “Yo Quiero Dinero.” Her new book, Financially Lit!, was published by Grand Central Publishing on April 30, 2024. Order your copy at financiallylitbook.com In this week’s episode, Jannese and I talked about the importance of building your wealth, being financially independent, and protecting yourself financially. As women in a marginalized community, we don’t always have people teaching us how to take control of our finances. Happiness is literally at your fingertips, you just have to let yourself have it. And, ideally, everyone wants to be happy. But not everyone is putting in the work to actually achieve happiness. There is work that needs to be done to be happy. You can’t just let life happen to you, you have to decide what will make you happy and go for it. But in order to go for it, you have to be accepting of change. In this week’s episode, we talk about why you are the only person that can make you happy. Whether that’s in relationships or at work or in your day-to-day life, the common denominator is you. You are the only person who can give yourself the happiness you’re craving, and this week I’m going to teach you exactly how to give it to yourself. Do you ever feel like you are what you do for work? I know so many people who have tied their entire identity to their jobs. It’s more common than you think! This week's guest went through the same thing, and now, she’s going to tell us how she untangled her career from her identity. Medina works at Google as a Business Operations Program Manager, making the tech world run a little smoother. Pero, her heart truly beats for two things: cuddling her furry sidekicks, Snuffles & Luna, and empowering Latinas to crush their goals and rewrite the rules for success. She has 8 years of experience working in tech - from hiring superstar intern talent to supporting performance management, she's explored various corners of the tech world. Throughout it all, Viry’s been a champion for diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, building spaces where everyone feels valued and unstoppable. She is a lifelong learner who loves expanding her network. So, don't be a stranger! Come say hola, share your story, or just chat about anything (because, let's be honest, the internet is for more than just work!). Find her at her blog, hey-viry.com. In this week’s episode, we’re working on unbinding our career from our identity. We already hold so much value just by being ourselves that we don’t need our job to give us value. As a Latina, that’s a mindset we often have to learn on our own. We don’t need to look to others to give us validation. We already have it. Are you being held back by fear? Many of my clients in Courage Driven Latina are held back by all kinds of fear - the fear of failure, the fear of being seen, and the fear of taking a leap of faith. They’re afraid of what the future could hold because they don’t know what that looks like. But that’s ok! No one knows what the future looks like! The confidence and certainty come later - when you’re doing it. And even then, you’re never 100% certain. That’s why you should do it anyway. This week, we're talking about how to work through your fears so that your goals are more feasible. You really can do whatever you set your mind to. You just have to let go of your fears so you can actually do it. Are you in your own way? So many of my clients spend so much time thinking about what they want to do, that they’re delaying actually doing anything. And, to be honest, I used to do the same thing! I thought about starting a food blog for a YEAR before I actually posted anything. I didn’t feel fulfilled until I actually started to take courageous action. Which is why I’m introducing you to this week's guest. She took courageous action and now she’s on her way to owning a seven-figure business. Revekka Balancier, the founder of Axiom of Purpose, leverages nearly 30 years of marketing and communications experience, bold creativity, and passion for the purpose to craft impactful campaigns dedicated to the greater good. After spending a decade in Hollywood publicity and promotions working on movies for Disney, Paramount, Universal, and other studios, she shifted her focus to public service. She served in key communication roles for the Lt. Governor of Colorado, Denver Human Services, Denver Public Works, the Denver Mayor’s Office, and the Port of San Diego where she launched the agency’s new brand. She spent two years as creative strategy VP for a boutique agency before starting Axiom, focusing exclusively on purpose-driven projects, channeling her expertise toward positive environmental and social change. She spends most weekends brunching with her granddaughters, searching for better crepes than the ones she learned to make from her abuelita - hasn’t happened yet! In this week’s episode, Revekka shares her journey through the Courage Driven Latina Program and why she felt like she needed to take courageous action. With over 30 years of experience, she knew she could start her own agency and run things herself. But because she didn’t feel like herself, she didn’t take that leap of faith. When I first met my clients in the Courage Driven Latina program, many of them said that they joined because they just needed the courage to start. They told me that once they started, they knew they could achieve their goals. And while that’s true, the courage to start is not always sustainable. You also need the courage to keep going no matter what. And I mean it - no matter what. It’s easy to stay motivated when things are going your way. But your dreams become a reality once you face adversity head-on and get through it. It’s tough, especially when you’re doing it all on your own. This is why I’m going to teach you how to have the courage to push through adversity. This week’s episode is very close to my heart because it is halfway through the year and I don’t want anyone giving up on their New Year's goals. Here on the podcast, we are sharing a sneak peek into a workshop I led during our latest in-person event. In this workshop, I’ll teach you how to face adversity and make your dreams your reality. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, we are introducing you to a badass Latina who is killing it in the mental health space. If you follow me, you probably follow Jackie, too. Whether it's through her hilarious memes or her helpful mental health facts, Jackie is succeeding at destigmatizing mental health in the Latine community. Jackie Garcia is a bilingual Spanish-speaking Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over seven years of experience working with children, teens, adults, and families. Jackie grew up in Tijuana, Baja California until she was 12 years old. Her parents migrated to the U.S. to pursue a better life for her and her siblings. As many know, middle school years can be challenging. As a teen, Jackie struggled to adjust to a new culture, language, friends, and trends. However, these transformative years significantly impacted her life and led her to become a therapist. Jackie encountered her first therapist during this phase of her life, experiencing therapy from the other side of the couch. Her therapist helped her navigate life transitions, adjustments, and hardships at the time. This experience solidified her belief in the broad array of benefits therapy offers, regardless of one’s circumstances, conditions, or concerns. Jackie's extensive clinical experience spans mental health outpatient programs, non-profit organizations, field-based community mental health, and private practice. In this week’s episode, Jackie and Erika talk about the stigma around mental health in the Latine community. We as a community have very specific traumas that we are very commonly finding ourselves addressing in therapy - including cycle-breaking, difficult relationships with our parents, and seeking mental health support. During their conversation, Jackie addresses all these topics and more so that you and your loved ones do not have to suffer in silence. Listen to the full episode to hear all about it! Do you think it’s too late to chase your dreams? This is a problem I’m constantly addressing in the Courage Driven Latina program. My clients think they’re too old and that they’ve missed their window of opportunity. And every single time they have a little courage, their dream becomes a reality. It’s never too late and you’re not too old to change. Some of the biggest household names in the world didn’t make it big until they were in their fifties! Imagine if Steve Carell gave up on acting in his thirties - we’d never have The Office! In this week’s episode, I’m giving you a sneak peek into how I coach my clients into being courageous - no matter how old they are. Because at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how old you are or how many certifications you have. As long as you want it, you can make it happen. All you need is a little courage.
