In episode one, we enter Yuki’s world, our pink-haired deaf protagonist. The poetic, romantic nature of this beautifully animated series is captivating to say the least. We also meet Itsuomi, a boy passionate about language and culture, and Rin, Yuki’s extraordinary wingwoman of a friend who’s crushing on Itsuomi’s cousin, Kyoya. Yuki’s and Itsuomi’s instant chemistry jumpstarts all three ladies’ hearts. Ayu opens up about the shoujo sparkles in her own relationship. In episode two, Itsuomi makes a point to stay in contact with Yuki while traveling, and it goes to show how much he truly likes her. Rin continues to be the wingwoman of the century. Oushi is frustrating in the way he signs so harshly to Yuki, for infantilizing her, and for translating for her without her asking, among other things. In episode three, Yuki makes a sign language guide for Itsuomi! Talk about dedication! Yuki tells Itsuomi that she’s comfortable with his touch, melting everyone’s hearts. Shin and Emma are introduced, and Yuki asks Itsuomi for clarity on whether or not he’s dating Emma. Itsuomi sets strong boundaries with Emma.
